Biography

Alexey Komarov is a master of artistic stone cutting. He was born and currently lives in the city of Nizhny Novgorod  - located in the European part of Russia.

A graduate of R.E. Alekseev Polytechnic University, he worked at a car manufacturing company for the GAZ group before starting his career as a diamond cutter.

His main hobby is studying physics, as well as crystallographic forms and properties of minerals.

His work is a prime example of maximum luster and achievement of a high level of color saturation of a stone. His favorite material to work with is quartz stones, such as amethyst and citrine.

Alexey never stands still. Over the years, he has been improving the techniques and methods of cutting stones through experimentation with new shapes and tools. For Alexey, cutting stones is an adventure and a search for the new and unknown. Each undertaking allows him to discover a new world, new knowledge and a new level, which will ultimately become the starting point for future research.
